It astounds me that people still offer first place Google ranking service. Every day I still receive at least one spam email which offers me to get first place ranking on Google if I hire them to improve the SEO of any of the domain names I manage.

I started writing these Daily Golden Nuggets more than four years ago and even before then, Google posted warnings saying how first place ranking could not be achieved by simply hiring someone. Their warning is VIEW FULL GOLD NUGGET

On-Page SEO Ideas for Jewelers to Target Local

Last week we gave you an example of how you could rewrite some copy on your website with Local Intent so it doesn't appear overly spammy to Google. Here's the link to that Nugget if you missed it: http://bit.ly/IsBLUL

Today we have a list of some specific phrase examples that you could, and should somehow sprinkle around the pages on your site. We've using our address in New Jersey for this example.

Example #1:
"Hello and Welcome to Perosi Jewelers. Come browse through the most unique jewelry store, gift store, and bridal registry in Totowa."

If we were writing a book, we would say "jewelry and gift store" to be more concise, but for the web you need to split those phrases up for exact matching through Google Search. Also, you might notice the use of the phrase "bridal registry" in this example. Back on April ...

Big Brands vs. Your Jewelry Store

As a local retail jeweler, you are faced with many advertising difficulties compared to large jewelry chain stores like Jared, Zales, Kay, JCPenny and so many others. They have millions of dollars to throw at their national advertising and branding.

These large companies create buzz around their brands and consumers naturally remember the ads, slogans, and jingles that are repeated effectively in large, unified branding campaigns.

The word of mouth alone creates online interest and random link sharing to all of these big brand websites. As a result of this link sharing, these companies gain incredibly super ranking in the search engines that will easily bury your search engine efforts as a local jeweler.
